Pics from Mt. Kinabalu climb. (long over-due)
here are some pics as promised from the previous post (:

we LOOK all psyched up for the climb! I had NO IDEA what was in store for me.

First, it was all steps.

Then the higher you go, the rockier it gets. Like my dad says, "It can only get worse."
...TORTURE
TORTURE
TORTURE... Till we reach the "base" camp.
View from "base" camp. its freaking not base man! its effing high!!!!
take photo, take photo, take photo... with our very own army boys from SINGAPORE!!

Bracing ourselves for a trecherous descent. ughh..

Niceeeee viewwwwww......

And it AIN'T as easy as it looks. we're just smiling in every picture just to look good in the picture. read previous post for details of climb and complaints from Ms Daphne Lim. haha.
wanna see how it really was to climb that mountain.....?
Lack of the necessary O2.

Everyday should be Christmas.
updates, UPdates, UPDATES!!!
1. Climbed Mt. Kinabalu and came down ALIVE!! its crazy there. you need to be insane to decide to climb it.
2. Accepted offer for NHG scholarship.
3. Received crucial test dates & test dates for school in AUGUST 2008. its just the first month of school man! sigh...
Maximum altitude of mountain: 4095.2m
Elevation Daphne reached: 3554.6m
I couldn't bring myself to go any higher. The air is SO thin, very little oxygen for my dear lungs to breathe, it was freaking cold and windy when we were approaching the peak, and its was raining. I had to turn back cos i treasured my dear life. haha.
Picture this:
Day one:
- 8am, set off to climb up to "halfway house" (its not really halfway, rather its at 3/4 the altitude of the mountain)
- damn alot of suffering and breathlessness along the way up.
- 3.45pm, reach halfway house. rest, take a shower, have dinner.
- 6pm, SLEEP.
Day two:
- 2am, wake up and get ready for remainder climb to the peak.
- 2.30am, set off for climb.
- 7am, return to halfway house for breakfast.
-8.30am, set off to descend down the rest of the mountain.
- 1.45pm, reach foot of mountain. I was kissing the ground then. my legs couldn't hold me any longer!
I couldn't walk properly for 5 days after the climb. I won't be going back there anymore. the lack of oxygen is enough to scare me. Imagine this, at the point you start off climbing, its already at the height of Genting Highlands in Malaysia! I'm not going back there. But I don't know about youuu.....
I've got photos of the climb. but i'll post it some other time when i've uploaded it on my com.
- Accepted NHG scholarship offer
Well, there's nothing much to say for this YET.. haven't signed the deed with ttsh yet. I pray pray pray I can live with this bond i'm about to bring myself into.
